Razer and Esports Heaven have announced a new tournament for Call of Duty 4, scheduled just one week after the release of Modern Warfare 2. With most of the competitive community agreeing that MW2 won't be suited for competitive play, Call of Duty 4 will remain the current competitive game on Esports Heaven in the Call of Duty series and this tournament will bring you right into the action once more as € 500 is put up for grabs for the best Call of Duty 4 team out there.
Schedule
Friday 7th of November: Announcement
Monday 16th of November: match day 1
Wednesday 18th of November: match day 2
Sunday 22nd of November: finals
As you can see the dates are a week after the release of Modern Warfare 2 but the folks over at Esports Heaven are confident that they will still reach 64 teams (or more) given the state of competitive play for Modern Warfare 2 as the future looks grim on that side.
If you want to participate we would say hop on over to Esports Heaven and sign your team up!
Today the British organisation of Reason Gaming have announced their new-look Call of Duty roster looking forward to the release of Modern Warfare 2, bringing in two of the most recognised names in the European Call of Duty 4 scene, namely Daniel "SoCLoN" Perez O'Connor and Ryan "dUffER" Duffy, both will be taking the place of the two former Finnish players, Samuli "sLWx" Kettunen & Jyri "kAMMYz" Hogman, however the latter of the two, Hogman, will be taking his position in the Reason Quake Live roster.
SoCLoN was released from his contract in Team Dignitas earlier this week, and today announces his return to an organisation which he began his career under back in Call of Duty 2, however this will be the first time in a matter of years which see's the brother without his 'other half', Jason "lookzor" Perez O'Connor, who has taken time out to focus on real life.
The second addition - one of the more colourful members within the COD community - dUffER, was recently left without any teammates following the departure of four of the Button Bashers members, with only Chris "nreo" Mead joining a 'recognised' side by the name of Dignitas, but will now return to his slot in the Reason Gaming organisation, a name which he has carried once in the past, albeit for a matter of days.
Another announcement is that Tom "D1ablo" Newman has confirmed he will be returning to the team, following being linked to Team Dignitas while they were publicly searching for suitable players to fill their roster.
The Reason Gaming line-up will be present at Multiplay's i38 in November with the following line-up: Chris "Lighters" Lightburn Tim "revoltz" Denton Tom "D1ablo" Newman Danny "SoCLoN" Perez O'Connor Ryan "dUffER" Duffy
Statement Tim "revoltz" Denton: (www.Reason-Gaming.net) "Things didn't really go as well as expected at the end of last season, with a bit of luck on our side and/or better preparation things could've gone way differently but it wasn't to be. Changes had to be made, and with Jyri deciding to step down then the logical choice for the team was a UK based line-up over another EU one.
Both Danny and Duffer were straight forward choices to fill the final two positions after the chaotic spin that happened in dignitas last month. They are experienced players who've been to numerous European events and really need no introduction. Best of all we get on great with each other outside of the game unlike some other teams - which people forget is the most important thing
I'd like to thank Reason, and especially Sapphire and Razer for their continued support. Bring on Newbury."
